Nothing is as important to our walk of faith than the practice of hope. “Put your hope in God,” the Psalmist said in the midst of hope-draining circumstances. “Put on hope,” said the Apostle Paul, to teach believers that hope is not a passive idea, but an intentional action. This is an especially relevant truth in light of the current times in which we live—a pandemic season of unknown length that is both restricting our lives and causing very real hardship. So how do we put on hope? Psalm 121 will unveil for us how to literally practice hope when we have come through run-ins with hope-draining people and hope-crushing situations. Today, you will learn how hope is not a passion for the possible, it is a passion for the promise—the promises of God to watch over us continually and guard our comings and our goings.
